Vice City Stories Released On PlayStation 2

Posted at 17:57 GMT by Chris :: Category: Vice City Stories :: Comments: 48
Vice City Stories has now been released to North American gamers, European gamers will have to wait an extra few days until the release this Friday March 9th. The PS2 version is a near identical copy to it's older PSP counterpart, minus the multiplayer features. It is retailing for just .99, a bargain for any GTA fan.

Check out the Vice City Stories section of our website for anything you need for the game, including cheats (same as the PSP version), a 100% check list, and a complete walkthrough. We'll be adding more content to the site over the next few days.

Great. For anyone who has already got it and is playing through it, you could post about it in our VCS forum, especially if you've played the PSP version so we can hear your thoughts on how they compare. I'm particularly interested in whether any of the bugs which were reported in this topic have been fixed. Specifically for me, these that I discovered: see my post on page 2 of that topic, or click here.

It's good that it's coming in a few days, especially my friend became real happy when he read this. Personally, I think it will stay the same, atleast the bugs will be fixed and the draw distance will improve, but other than that great to hear this Chris.

I will probably get it after school on Friday but I hope those glitches are fixed. If not well then I will only be seeing some improved things, e.g. The Graphics.

I'm certainly going to get this, but unfortunely I live outside of the US, so I'll have to wait until March 9th.

Yep, just a few days left. I recommend you go on a game website and pre-order it, for example www.gameplay.com, you won't pay more than is necessary. The trailer's graphics looked pretty poor from what I saw of it, but I'm sure the gameplay is as good as ever.

Isn't it a bit to small a gift for something as big as your b-day...

Nice for the people who own a ps2, or perhaps only a ps3. For me little difference. But I'll go to a store and play a little there.

Yeah the PS2s these days doesn't cost that much you know, and there's plenty of reasons to buy a PS2 today, it has some amazing games you know. And Jace, man he's getting VCS for his b-day, now VCS isn't something small you know, I'd say it's something big, know what I'm saying :) I'd love to have it for my b-day you know. But I know what you're saying man, of course he should also get a big sandwich layer cake :)

I just found out that in the PS2 version that the manual aiming on a gun isn't in this version of Vice City Stories.

Wasn't there no manual aim in the Liberty City Stories PS2 version, also?

Yeah, I know. I have the PSP version. So how would you aim at cars and stuff that requires manual aim?

Well its stupid because now you have to have a sniper rifle to pop the 99 Red Ballons. I have no idea why it ain't in this Version.

Well, now this is a very bad mistake by Rockstar. I can't see how anyone can live with being unable to manual aim vehicles and other non-auto targetable objects like the balloons. I'm asking all these questions because I have no PS2, yeah but it wouldn't make sense since I already have the PSP version.

Business wise this is a hge mistake they should have put it onto the PS2, PS3 and 360 version

What's the price in England... I converted $19.99 and it came up as £10 but It will probably be more than that.

No, it was in the ps2 version also. In order to do it, you just aim at any person, then click 'L3' and you'll go into manual aim mode, makes it easier for shooting fuel tanks.

@ Woozie, the official price is £19.99, don't understand why it isn't the same price as when gta lcs came out on ps2 (which was £14.99)

Okay, I see. Can anybody else confirm manual aim isn't in Vice City Stories?

@ps3 player: Yet again, the PS3 is backwards compatible. It can play PS2 games on the PS3, if I'm not mistaken.

I got it today and so far its as I thought it would be - slow to start with, but hugely entertaining. BTW there IS a manual aim, exactly the same as liberty city stories, just aim with R1 then click L3 and you'll go into manual aim mode.

@ 2003, you beat it on ps2 or psp? if its ps2, then either its very short or you play games all day.

The PS2 version I just got yesterday and it is pretty good but there is still some bugs. For example when you hit somone and then hes on the floor you hit him again and the sound happens about 3 seconds later. Other than this havn't found any bugs so far so good for me. :lolbounce:

Yes, but that's what I call another insignificant "bug".

There isn't any, I've spent about half an hour looking for them and it only comes up with PSP cheats... Unless I'm mistaken, which is doubtful, there isn't any (at the moment)...

The PS2 cheats are the same as the PSP cheats.
Woozie
#39 - March 10th, 2007 @ 19:26
They can't be. Because on some of them theres just R and an R1 or anything so I dunno what to press for that.
Rashon125
#40 - March 10th, 2007 @ 19:49
On IGN it does say L1 and R1 for PS2. The PSP cheats also have L1 and R1 but they just mean L and R. So the cheats are the same for both versions.

does L and R mean L1 and R1, or L2 and R2?
example: Armor:
