when ever i open up gta 4 it closes out at the lil black box and it doesnt say anything.......please help

**************UPDATE*************ok so now it says gta 4 has stopped working please help

Uninstall the game and delete all remaining game files. Then completely reinstall the game. Everything should return to normal and everything should be fine.

ok so that got rid of the gta 4 has stopped working but it went back to the first problem

Update your video card and can you be a more specific about on which system are you playing on it?

What firewall you using? Make sure you haven't got any programs running preventing it from opening

I couldn't get L4D2 open earlier just wouldn't load and it was because of my new firewall I'm using

If your antivirus software/firewall is blocking it, click on the "always allow" option on the warning menu.

its a brand new laptop windows 7

GTA usually doesn't play well on a laptop, but it is possible to play GTA on a laptop, it is just that you have to set the settings to very low levels.

Hmm...Its a brand new laptop well GTA 4 has some issues with modern day system as it was made for a particular group of rigs so it wont work on your laptop unless you use a GTA 4 patch and a good nvidia graphics card say 512 mb atleast!

i cant install the patch it wont let me is there any other way to install the patch?
