Well I don't know but I just feel like that and so do many others. It really has lost its spirits.
When I first joined, last year, I remember how active TGTAP was. A hour after you posted replies would come and there was atleast one member online always. This is not that.

Now even the moderators have been away for long. And it seems like TGTAP is dieing.
But by this I don't mean that it cannot be brought back to life. We can. We can always to something to attract more users and make TGTAP active as it was before.

Yeah, we can make it more lively place. We can arrange contests, competitions on almost every forum we have. But I alone can't help. Only if we work together, the spirits of TGTAP can return.

So please. We don't need to just talk but we also need to start doing stuff.

I don't know what I said right now. But that's what I feel often. That what often disturbs me. I am always ready to help and so are many other members here.

If you think this is just idiotism. Then simply lock or delete this post. But....

Not all members have to do this. Besides, the quantity of people joining TGTAP I think has gradually reduced.

As I said, activity will most likely pick up over time.

Some of us agree though. We can't just expect activity to increase over time as if by magic. Granted, it probably will over Christmas just because everyone is typically off school/work so they have more time to spend online. But then afterwards it'll drop again...

The staff and forum bosses are all ears to anyone who has any decent ideas to increase activity.

I agree. For me, the IPB Upgrade kinda ruined things. I wasn't really hyped on IPB 3 in the first place... And I just think it was much more original with the old theme. Maybe it's just my view on things but I liked everything how it was when I joined... Then again, for others this way is probably better.

Everyone can see that the forum is less active. This really happened over summer when everyone was away for various reasons, more people being away than usual, and not coming back fully.

A lot of TGTAP's membership will have gone to university over the past year or two, and the new members just aren't ingrained into the old TGTAP culture (and 'spirit'), not to mention them being younger than the remaining active members.

I think the success of other sites (eg twitter) and more people having blogs etc is taking away a lot of the reason to visit here. We can rant in public, and everyone can see it, rather than coming here to socialise. Even I can talk to people from TGTAP who I'm friends with elsewhere (eg msn, twitter, fb) and I don't have to come here for anything.

So how to fix? People need a reason to visit TGTAP that they can't get from other sites. Any ideas?

Well... That's your job! Lol. I'd like to help, but I'm busy with getting active users to my website. The flycatching method isn't great. But you should think of something that might get GTA fans hyped. With something that's not being done by other websites. The idea is that the people come for the GTA, then become part of the community.

Yeah, it's definitely for active during the summer, and it's hard to get used to the school year again. :) I myself wasn't even on here for like 2 months September - Now.

I think the only thing bothering me about this site is how much I HATE the new version of the IP Boards.

I have been all that active either lately, I do come on twice a week though. It's simply because I don't often get the chance to come on and if I do go on the internet I usually forget.

It might also have something to do with the fact that I am generally wanting to talk to my friends a lot more. I spent a lot more time texting than I do on the internet (Sent 1200 texts from October 4th to yesterday and 1000 received).

There's more but I have to go to school so I don't have the time.
I'll add to it later.

That's exactly what I meant. But yeah we can do things like organize a competition on GTA games on who completes all the missions first without cheats and we'll provide them with a savegame, etc.

Maybe that was a stupid idea. But if we really want to do them, we can of course find some more better ideas and implement them.

I do visit almost every day, I don't post since there's not much going on really. Plus, I have college now and being stuck in the middle of it, it's hard to make the most on here. Also, another reason is MW2. :P Been playing that as well, just to kill the time.

I can't promise I'll be on here all the time though, this is like the start of the academic year, for me atleast. Whenever I'm on college internet, I may do the odd 1-2 posts.

I don't think the new IPB forum was the problem either. There's no real difference in terms of how you post, I don't see much people struggle using it. The design is far more better than the other dull skin on the previous board. Unless that's your style, you need to check your eyes.

Bring back the Warzone. That'll keep me coming back indefinitely.

What? I have to ask for that every chance I get! Nostalgia purposes, you see. Now seriously, how about interesting videos? Expand from the stunting vids we have already and try new ideas, like machinima or general bullshitting in-game with the mics on. The best writers of the community could help come up with scripts.

EDIT: And I'm supposed to be the only one with an Edward Elric avatar, dammit!

Aw, my first post. You may call it "arrogant". I prefer "foreshadowing".

Don't forget that 85% of GTA Players are retarded kids who don't really fit into the forum... We need some sort of filter to keep them out.

That's exactly what I was talking about, the skin, and how it basically went from XP style to bloaty Vista style.

The new features are great though.
