As announced last week, today marks the release of Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories on the PSN Store, completing Rockstar Games' PS2 Classics collection on the PS3 - at least for the Grand Theft Auto franchise (other classic Rockstar titles are apparently forthcoming). Both games were originally released exclusively for the Sony PSP in 2005 and 2006 respectively, but were ported to the PS2 the following years.

From the dark, seedy and bustling streets of Liberty City's concrete jungle to the glamorous and hedonistic metropolis of Vice City in the 1980s. Two towns, each brimming with limitless delights and degradation, where anything can happen...

If you missed one of these two Stories when they first came out, or are ready to revisit Toni Cipriani's '98 rise to glory and Victor Vance's '84 tale of Vice - you can now pull them down digitally to your PS3.

I JUST knuckled down and bought LCS and LCS in a physical DOUBLE pack PS2 release, for a measly 10 bux at the local pawn shop, too bad you guys aren't in my area, actually St Paul, Minnesota, at the Pawn America off University Ave they have another copy, I just bought one of them, and basically starting VCS all over since my copy is for PSP and with LCS, I already had both, but the PS2 memory card I have was bought used with cheats activated, and I don't like that so I'll be buying another do do fresh gaming on, but it had it's own game saves, for things like Max Payne and State of Emergency as well.

The digital versions of these games are horrid. The framerate is absolute garbage according to a source on another forum. I haven't tried them. I have a Vita and an old PSP so I'm happy with that.

Rockstar now offering sales on their handheld device versions, to aid in getting your GTA hype reinvigorated. Though I use consoles, I feel keeping the PC MUST HAVE versions issue alive on their Newswire by suggesting PC editions of the AAA titles, and not 'pressing the issue' but gently reminding Rockstar there are ardent PC fans who only want that version of their games. The best thing we can do outside of a petition is keep showing an interest
