The GTA Place caused me to get junk e-mail

Recommended Posts

1. It's not TGTAP's fault. He must have tried something else. Cause info here only get's given I think Chris who is more than trustwhorty.

2. All mods here get seen by Chris before he adds them to database. So it could be he hasn't checked the latest mod submistions yet. Or your mod didn't work. Or it was just crap. If it was a savegame it might have been by submitting a 100% with cheats. Now that would be n00by. But I don't think you would be that stupid.

I wanted to say to everyone that I tried to add a Saved-Game for San Andreas on the “Submit a Modification” page, but was ignored. Why? I don’t know.

After that, I started getting junk e-mail on my personal e-mail account. :pissedred:

Thanks a lot The-GTA-Place, I won’t be submitting anything else.

Look, I haven't added ANY downloads since this one on the 19th November. I've been too busy to go through all of them. In addition to this, unless I have time to start up San Andreas and test the save game out I usually don't bother approving, since there's already a few 100% games in our database.

As for your junk mail problems, this is NOTHING to do with us, and the fact you're trying to link us to it solely because you've submitted a mod here is stupid.

Unless the emails have come from an address which ends in @thegtaplace.com, we are nothing to do with it. And if they are, it means that our server has been compromised, and we will have server technicians check it out and deal with the problem. Please let me know if they are, so I can get it sorted out.

Well congratufuckinglations Zoom. Because after a random member uses a php-scripted form to add one of their mods to our database, we like to randomly go in there, pull out a submission, and sign his email address up for spam. Think of it as being our one millonth customer.

Look dude, you might get junkmail anywhere you put your email address on the web, especially in forums. That's because spambots can come onto any site and search it for email addresses, then take them and send them spam. But since the mod wasn't submitted and the bot couldn't possibly see it, you were probably just signing up for animal porn and they required an email address.
