Skynyrd Concert

Recommended Posts

In the past year, I've grown into a huge Skynyrd fan. By that I mean that I've heard almost every song that was sang by the original band, along with have almost every song sang by the original band (and I wonder where all of my money went).

I finally got to go to one of their concerts yesterday. It was awesome, though they only played the more popular songs. It was a great time, I've never been to a concert before, but when you're standing next to a 65 year old drunk guy who's jumping all around spilling his beer and you're both singing along to Ballad of Curtis Loew - it's awesome. I guess I got caught up in my friend's concert luck, there was someone smoking pot right infront of us ... then he just stood there the whole time staring off at nothing during the best songs (Red White and Blue and Freebird).

We got there at 230, and Skynyrd was on at 7 so we sat in the field (it was at a farm). I was on a cooler, my friend was sleeping in his trunk, his brother was sitting in a chair and another annoying kid that we brought along was sitting in the car. There were alot of great looking drunks there (we were hitting on the drunk girls) and bbqing going on. We got in at 530 and walked around for about an hour ... then it started poruing, so two of us ran out to the car to get ponchos ... or so we said, we just sat in the car and waited for it to stopraining and then went back in. There was this one muddy spot on the side of the hill that atleast 20 people fell down in. One girl fell down, spilled her fries on here and got mud all over her. We were expecting to see mud wrestling but it didn't happen.

Yeah, it was awesome, and I fit in with the old rednecks more than the people my age.
