Yep, I'm in the Midwest, cannot celebrate the New Year outside unless you want to risk frostbite or worse! OUCH!

A week ago we heard near Fairbanks Alaska, they'd suffered in 40 BELOW ZERO weather for a few days, now it's barreling out across the USA, causing severe storms over Christmas in fact.

Report on how this or winter 2013 is effecting you at present....Stay Safe, and BUNDLED!!!!

And HAPPY NEW YEAR of course, hope you can survive the coming months!

I miss the cold. So much. It has not really gotten below the 60s here this year. Yesterday it was in the high 70s. There are very few redeeming factors about Southern USA. That is that people are nice and helpful. For the most part they are still dense rednecks. I want to go back north. With snow and fall and everything.

Record highs in Florida I saw on the Weather Channel, reporting about the Upper US storm currently on the map, the weather is split between cold and warm causing nearly two days of rain for us here, sadly, the melting won't likely dry fast enough before temps dip back to single digits! ARGH!

It is still early in the New Year, but as I type, 12 30 at night in MN, the temp is 38 degrees Fahrenheit ! That's a heat wave for us I'd say

The lowest it's been in Albuquerque is about 20 degrees. Snow a couple of inches, got to see some people freak out and wreck. Also doubled my 15 minute commute :/ Eh. I like the cold better than the scorching heat.

Really guys!? I hate the cold so much, temperatures in England are around freezing point at the moment and I fucking hate it, I would much rather be somewhere warm right now. The only time I ever want to be somewhere cold is the few days around Christmas, otherwise it just wouldn't feel like Christmas but other than that give me a tropical island any day of the week!

It's got to be 90 or above for me to hate the heat, versus 50 or lower for me to get annoyed by the cold, but bundling up to stay warm here means covering every inch of exposed flesh from the elements, and I had to today with air temp around 5 degrees with the sun, MID-DAY

Fahrenheit here in the States, of course

I am not Christian, but there is still something awful about shopping in a sundress with Christmas music playing.  They start playing it as early as possible too, so you are painfully reminded that you are not going to see a white Christmas.  Snow is so pretty, I miss seeing it, I miss ice skating outside, I even miss salting my walkway.

Yeah, the thing is in this country though everyone gets really excited when the weather reports say it's gunna snow but then when it finally does snow they just bitch and moan :/

One wacky Jetstream dipping very deep into the South and moving East and West seems to be bringing about more then one major East Coast event and some needed Rain in California perhaps, but regardless, we can't seem to break from this pattern just yet, we got about 3 to 4 inches of snow just today as temps were mildly just about 40 degrees and going back down to the 20s or so. It was nearly 0 degrees here over the past week or two, but nothing pervasively cold. Just long for anything above 40 now! Bring on Spring!!
