I know, I know, I love them too but they crash the game.

DO NOT SPAWN TRAINS OR YOU WILL BE KICKED! IT CRASHES CLIENTS!

Hopefully they'll fix the issue, but for now we can't do it. Sorry guys.

EDIT: AS OF TODAY I HAVE EDITED FREEROAM SO YOU CAN'T SPAWN TRAINS VIA GUI, IF YOU SPAWN THEM VIA VEHICLE ID I WILL REPEATEDLY SHOOT YOU WITH A MINIGUN UNTIL YOU LEAVE THE SERVER.

LOL why would you do that anyway? You wouldn't be able to drive them unless you spawned it exactly on a railway.

Or no?

I heard it spawns onto the nearest track or something along those lines.

If I remember, the trains are pretty damn buggy. I think NotYouHaha and ALVASI were on, and when I was on the train, it sort of derailed, but continued going on, but this time round, I couldn't control it, It went through most of the terrain and certain objects and stuff etc. I eventually got hold of it, but it was in the middle of the air, but obviously If I jumped off it, I would of fell down and died possibly. Plus on the note of bugs, Do not ever spawn 2 trains at once, fuck, If I remember, it was moving weirdly, and no one was controlling it. Eventually it moved by itself and stuff.

So yeah, it was fun while it lasted, but it's a pretty big bug.

Never bugged the game though.

When I first say this topic in the search I thought rayrob had posted yet another topic...

When I was last on the server (about a week and a half ago), I found nothing wrong with the trains but that might have something to do with the very bad lag I was getting - I was being followed by some prick who liked to spawn kill. But yeah, a lot of us are guilty of doing this.

It's not that bad without a controller. I thought it would be horrible but it's easy.

If your that desperate you can connect your controller to your PC but you need to buy an adapter for it.

Yeah those trains were really buggy. If someone tried changing it color and upgrading it, everyone near it would crash. If the train hit something when its derailed, you would sometimes crash.
- If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

Wonder who would get the idea to spawn a train. Never knew it was possible until I remembered they were drivable.

So I had no problem with the trains, and we were having a blast((180MPH before derail)), and we had no crashes at all.

And on the subject of shit like this, if you can, get rid of the user-ability to change the weather and time. It is REALLY pissing me off. People will change it from night to day every two seconds and I'll hardly be able to move from the lag. To me that is WAY more important than the trains.

There is no "freedom of speech" in forums, yes you can say what you want but in the end what the mods say gos. This is not a democracy.

...do I need to make an announcement about fanboy's in the GTA multiplayer modding scene or do you want to just go look at the scirpting features at http://development.mtasa.com/ ?

SA-MP barely has any faults though, it's just a nice simple way to play online with some cool gamemodes.

Not being a fanboy, I just see them as completely different things, I have a different kind of fun with each.

Here's the way I see it. Any issues that MTA has don't really bother me all that much. I'm willing to deal with a couple of crashes from time to time (although honesty, I've never been timed out, and I've only been crashed out a few times) to play with the features implemented within MTA:SA.

Besides, we are using MTA and that's not going to change. A lot of work has gone into getting the current server online and the MTA server has gained a lot of popularity. The negatives don't outweigh the positives to switch to SAMP as far as I can see.

From what I have seen and heard, most reliability issues stem from a bad connection or serious lag issues (and the occasional train). So hmm.
