Ah, IRC, where men are men, women are men, and 14-year old girls are FBI agents.

More realistic award suggestions please, something that members would have to work for. I'll leave this open til Sunday/Monday, and finalise the list then. We'll hold nominations after that.

You guys don't read, do you?

Again the clear winner is mine, no one can resist polar bears. I still feel that we have most awards sorted.

Instead of "Most Active Member", have "Most Visible Member" for someone that it seen throughout the entire forum, talking about lots of different things, and helping people in loads of different places.

In addition to "Most Intelligent" perhaps have the "Best Debater" or similar, for member who contributes best to serious/religious/political discussions etc in Serious Chat. That's a very positive award that would encourage people to debate well, rather than just have lots of userbars in their signatures.

Thomas' idea of "Best English" is sort of a good point - the person that writes with the best English rather than what you'd expect from SMS/IM, again encouraging members to work harder and try and gain this award.

I think you have a LOT of Most Knowledgeable (GTA) awards. Are we still going to have one for GTA III every year forever? Perhaps we could start merging the old/shit ones, so: GTAIII/VC, LCS/VCS, SA, IV.

Hottest member doesn't show up in your list?

Perhaps add Best Stunter (IV), but I'm not sure if there has been that much activity there yet. All the more reason for it to be an award, I suppose.

There is nothing in that post I don't agree with :P

@ Rainbow Bear: I like Polar bears, but have you seen Knut. The last time I saw a picture of him he was more greyish than white. That dude needs a bath :hurrhurr:

I myself am tempted to remove Userbar Whore, it was funny the first year until a few people tried putting every userbar they could into their sigs...

I got a warn for that one. ^^.

Can there be a biggest noob? Hottest Member?

NO NEGATIVES. Man, I'm just going to have to nail some of ya'll with a hammer to get it in your head.

We've got hottest member, always. As for Scott's suggestion. How about most likely to get laid?

Actually no, I think Least Likely to Get Laid can be one of our humorous awards this year, along with Largest Breasts.

That should probably be it though, mostly looking for serious awards that people have to actually work for. Best Debater is a good one, as is Best English so we'll definitely include those.

Best non-native English is a good idea too, except it's unfair in numerous ways, some of which Gerard pointed out. But some countries teach kids English alongside their mother tongue, whereas some only learn it in the schooling stages. People are at all different stages. For the reasons we've discussed I won't bother including that award.

I agree actually.

I don't see the point in the Weirdest Looks category atm.

Maybe "Member who curses less" or most educated member xD.

I agree on the Best Debater award.

The stunt awards should probably be scrapped, people are starting to move onto IV and the III trilogy is getting a bit old (but not boring)

Spider, your suggestions are just the basic shit..They don't require much effort in my opinion..

What about 'Greatest Music Taste' by looking into the What are you Listening to now thread?

Nah, everyone has different tastes, no way to determine who's is best.

Throughout 2008 we've still had quite a few stunt vids posted so we'll keep the awards for at least this year. Perhaps next year if it's still declining in popularity we'll scrap them.

I was thinking about "Most Popular Member" in a way. That way anyone on the forums that is a member can be nominated and nobody can possibly be left out to be nominated. It might be a big poll and have to be done on 2 or 3 seperate steps. Until we get 3 left to battle it out. Ofcourse this isn't going to go down very well as members don't have to do a single bit of effort towards it.

I know. Doesn't change the fact that they're outdated as hell. I have nothing against the members who wear them - It's a personal opinion.
