The view on the first two Gta's sucked badly Gta 3 saved the francise so much anyone else agree?

GTA 1 and 2 were awesome. The top down view was a little hard at first, but you get use to it. GTA 3 didn't save the franchise, in fact, the game was already awesome as it was. I think the top down GTA's were the greatest. And Ivan, it wasn't totally 2D, the buildings were 3D, it was just the cars and pedestrians that were flat.

Where have you been? GTA 3 "saved" the franchise? From what? I happen to like the overhead view and I actually hope that someone releases an excellent classic GTA clone over XBLA and Playstation Store.

Actually the cars were all 3D models too, but from a top down perspective it all looked 2D.

Overhead view was good.. I wish they still had that as a optional view... lol.
