This really came unexpectedly... I was wondering why I couldn't search for all the SA-MP servers. They still work but only if they're listed under official or if you have them under favorites. SA-MP was poppin'.

Screw SA-MP ,The people that ran it were total AHoles,im glad rockstar beat the crap out of them with GTA 4 Online.
They actually thought that they could compete against Rockstar's more powerful online engine.Think again,they saw it coming,but they were stubborn.

I want SAMP! GTA IV doesn't feel the same. Although SAMP isn't actually gone and never will. Just they aren't hosting the lists, not developing it and not working on the website or forum anymore. No biggie. Although I want those forums back! Along with the lists!

This was unexpected. Is it just me or does the text on the website seem a little..weird..I don't know. But SAMP was a great mod for San Andreas. Im gonna miss it.

god.. the mod hasn't gone! it aint going nowhere! The app is a client connecting to servers hosted by different people (Not SAMP people) so we'll be able to play it... FOREVER!

Not going to miss it. Nothing to miss. Except hackers and idiots! They wont be able to find their way onto the servers... YAY!

Damn it to hell & poop!!! I was really looking forward to playing SAMP tonight, and now it's ... !?GONE?! Yes OK so I know that not everyone liked it, I can see that. But I did. And I haven't got an Xbox, let alone GTA IV so that option is out the window.

OK I have what is probalby a n00b question here... is there anywhere good that i can find a list of servers still running SAMP? I'm assuming I can still join a server if I still have the IP?

IMO, SA-MP was still alive and well after the release of GTA IV. I never saw a major decline of any big-time servers (Like CrazyBob's, LittleWhiteys, LV Playground). It's just now there's a decline in members because not everyone knows how to retrieve the IPs of their servers if they never put it under favorites.

When I looked at SAMP servers I used Gamemonitor. Search it on google and you'll find it.

1. who ever don't have a copy of gta 4,thats their buisness.i have it and i'm enjoying online right now.

2. GTA 4 online is no different from SA-MP,it basically has the same feature as SA-MP once had.

3.SA-MP Staff are Ass Holes.me and other people including friends of mine never got along with them,the Staff use to damage our servers for no reason,so they and SA-MP can rott for all i care,cuz GTA 4 won.

It's time to forget the past,and move on to the future=GTA IV Online.

but if you want SA-MP to last a little while longer,i suggest someone take over the mod and add an anti-hacking device from preventing Ass hole hackers from entering and ruining your fun.

That 2nd point is bollocks. Actually, they all are. And you know it. SAMP servers were coded by everyone who could, therefore, if there was an idea there, it could be done. IV online is limited to what the developers put out there.

I am also very sure that the staff of SAMP would ot have damged your servers intentionally. Neither am i sure GTAIV 'won'... SAMP brought in SA sales, undoubtedly, and, that's more revenue to R*.... it's win / win for all involved.

I am also quites ure they weren't hacked. 'We give up' is not 'We got hacked' Also, who's to say, that in time, IV online won't be hacked.
