Here we go...

Rem, remember that problem you have is psychological so if you work really hard you can get passed it.
You could try some sort of therapy.

You don't think I have?

@ People Who think they have no social Life

I dont know how to put this but I did question someone on these forums (can't remember who) because they said they ddin't have a social life and I didn't really understand why. I think you should sort of go out with your friends, if you dont have any you have to make some. I reckon if you are a loner its because you choose to be that way, I know how people feel though who have communication problems etc. Someone in my area had that so we always had to phone him to play footie not the other way round.

Easy for you too say. And no you obviously don't know how people feel with communication problems.

Your right I dont know how you feel, but all I am trying to say is people with these sort of problems should at least make an effort to have a social life etc. I know your going to say you have tried but keep on trying. Social interaction is important, if you cant socialise you pretty much cant do any job in the world.

Make an effort? Uhm, yeah, what do you think I do? If I didn't make an effort I wouldn't be discussing this.

Lol, make an effort? You still don't get that that's actually impossible for some people?

If just anything goes a little off at school, I can just sit there and stare at a wall all day having no contact with people. That makes people think I'm some kind of a retard.

:)

How can it be impossible?

It's not IMPOSSIBLE but feels like it's impossible to overcome. It actually NEVER goes away, you have to deal with it. Imagine going you're whole life DEALING with it.

Because it is, that's the way some peoples minds work. Some people can do it, but feel very uncomfortable, some people can't do anything, because it's impossible for their minds to allow it.

Yeah, it really NEVER goes away, it's an anxiety. They don't go away and you just need to deal with it.

Well, I understand your point of view but I believe that if you have a strong power of will then you can overcome those dificulties.

Sure, but when it's severe it's ridiculous how hard it is to overcome this shit. It never is fully overcome, in fact it never is overcome at all, you just deal with it, like I said before. I haven't got there yet obviously.

But some people don't...

Yea, well I've managed to become a bit more social now, on the outside it'll look fine, but on the inside it's just horrible, thinking what will happen next, what people think of you, are you behaving right or not, all that stuff. It isn't that nice, and some people can't cope with it, so they avoid it.

Exactly, it feels so fucking uncomfortable you just don't want to deal with it. It doesn't stop either.

Some people probably think I'm grumpy or ignorant, and that really fucks it up when I pluck up the courage to try and overcome it.

Yeah that's the same with me. People throw insults at me left, right and center. I can't believe people have the nerve to turn around to people and say "OMG u r so gay" it is unbelievable, even when it is not true they still say it. I have nothing wrong with homophobic people but they do, they are f*cking ignorant.

But is it a minor autism or a severe one?

Homophobic or homosexual people? And when they say gay they don't mean it literally...

I have a slight speech impediment and I usually stutter when I talk. Couple that with a habit of saying whatever comes to my mind without thinking and I'm kinda screwed on socializing. Not to mention I really hate East Tennessee and most of the jackasses who live in it.

Yeah, I'm new here. Don't piss me off and we'll be fine. :D

Aw, my first post. You may call it "arrogant". I prefer "foreshadowing".

I used to have a really bad stutter when I was younger, and until about a month ago I used to mumble everything I said, now I speak properly. That kinda made things a bit more difficult.

I guess my mind is slow. I'll be explaining something and my mouth just stops and all these thoughts come rushing through my mind.

My friend sort of has the same problem like you REM.

Ugh, well, the thing is, he's sort of awesome when you get to know him, but he doesn't like socialising as much because of he's had problems back in the past before we both met. He rarely goes out with friends, only with his parents or brother. My friend forced him to come out, and he did. But he never enjoyed it because he was afraid of stuff. I think all he wanted to do was to stay in his house, but get friends to come with him.

Problem with me is, when I'm not uncomfortable with something social then something bad happens, I have a panic attack and end up getting in a lot of trouble.

Let me get something straight here, I don't have a personal life really and it isn't my fault (I don't think at least), I have severe social anxiety because of traumatic experiences when I was a kid. They're not as bad as you think but let's just say I've met some assholes in my life.

Bullied? I was when I was 5 years old. The moment we moved to the Netherlands. One of the reasons I've always hated this country. But that was 10 years ago anyway. To be honest I'm a real ass now. Tend to always find fault with everyone. Annoying people just for the sake of my own enjoyment and I'm rather harsh in my opinions.
I don't feel bad about it though. At least now people shut up when you tell them to. I'm starting to interact much more with other people in a friendly way, but I actually don't really like it. I'm faking my feelings (or at least what I show) far too much, and I've never wanted to do that.
I like limiting my interactions with other to just a small group. Much easier, much more fun. And we do. Group of 6 and it is much fun.

Interactions with girls I actually like doesn't really go far though..

What a dick for forcing him to go out. Seriously. And I don't understand what you mean when you said he wants to stay in the house but get friends to go out with him? I just like to stay in the house period.

It's worse than bullying kind of, it takes a while to explain and I don't want to go on a rant right now. It involves teachers, kids, parents, random people, etc.

I meant to say he likes staying home, but he prefers me and my friend to come over his house and chill, rather than meet up at some place.
