GTA IV Size

Recommended Posts

My guess:

Any 2.2 Ghz processor (Why just intel? Fanboy.)

1GB RAM with XP and 2GB Ram with Vista

DVD Drive: 24x (wtf CD?)

Graphics: Ati X1600 upwards or Nvidia 6800 upwards

HDD: 14GB

(Games are packaged into iso's, open file systems take up more room, i think, so it won't be 6 gigs. I have CM@ DiRT, and that's 12 gigs, and i assure you it'll be bigger than that.)

my PC will make it... im pretty sure of that...

512 MB RAM (Getting more soon)

3GB Free HD Space (Cause i've been using FRAPS alot lately- It's usually 17 GB Free)

A fast HD...

AMD Athlon 1.20 GHz (Whatever that means)

GeFORCE 6200 AGP Graphics Card- 400MHz, 8X AGP, 256 MB RAM.

And my PC is well maintained... If it can run Halo, San Andreas, Age Of Empires and Internet Explorer with no problems what-so-ever... It should be able to handle GTA 4

I think those specs would be Reccomended specs. Not minimum specs...

Zzz... im bored of talking about random stuff that makes no sense to me...

You're kidding yourself, mate.

Try Running assassin's creed at full whack on your PC, that pushes it to about how much GTAIV is going to need. (Mine manages it with ease)

Pretty good speculation, but the reason why the processor speed matters is because the architectures are different so a 2.2GHz Core2 =/= performance of a 2.2GHz Phenom.

Lol, I'm sure your 1.2GHz Athlon/6200 will handle it. Because Internet Explorer is a very demanding game which takes a very powerful computer to run.

If you can't run San Andreas at a high resolution with all settings at their highest and multi-sample anti-aliasing and get a constant maximum framerate then forget trying to run GTA4.

The specs would match specs for crysis and assassin's creed even though crysis actually needs way more than it says it needs.

My PC will handle it fine but my guess would be

Minimum

Minimum: Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz (3.2 GHz for Vista) or faster, Intel Core 2.0 GHz (2.2 GHz for Vista) or faster, AMD Athlon 2800+ (3200+ for Vista) or faster.

Minimum: 1 GB (Windows Vista requires 1.5GB RAM)

Video Card

Minimum: Supported chipsets: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT or greater; ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (Radeon X800 Pro for Vista) or greater.

Video RAM: Required - 256 MB

Video Card 3D Acceleration: Required

Video HW Transform & Lighting: Required

Vertex Shader Ver.: Required - 2.0

Pixel Shader Ver.: Required - 2.0

Minimum: 12 GB Free Disk Space.

Recommended

Recommended: Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz/Athlon X2 4400+ or better

Recommended: 2 GB Ram

Recommended: 7900GTX?

^ Assasin's does look damn awesome on full, so i think if you can run that (cba to copy the specs from the case) then you should be in the clear. I'm gonna buy crysis, just to see how far i can push the settings up before my PC lags (if it does)... :P

I know I'm definitely going to be keeping Xp, though :P

Edit:

CPU:............Core 2 Duo/Athlon X2 or better

RAM:1.....................1.5GB

Video Card:............NVIDIA 7800 Series, ATI Radeon 1800 Series or better

VRAM:.....................512MB of Graphics Memory

Storage:..................12GB

Sound Card:.............DirectX 9.0c Compatible

ODD:.......................DVD-ROM

OS: .........................Microsoft Windows XP or Vista

DirectX:.....................DX9.0c or DX10

Crysis' recommended specs, alot of people can easily hit that.

You admit it makes no sense to you yet you assume that it will run GTA IV, and not only that, but be the RECOMMENDED SPECS? You'd be hella lucky if those were even minimum specs. Don't bank on it. Three gigs? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't SA bigger than that?

I'm can run Crysis on high no problem with my 8800GT. As long as i don't put AA or 1600X1200 res I'm fine. In terms of graphics, IMO a PC that could play Crysis on medium would be able to play GTA IV on high.
