AMERICAN.GXT FILE!

Where can i find an american.gxt file?

I accidentally deleted mine,

and was placed at the Recycling Bin,

before i knew it,

i accidentally emptied my Recycling Bin..

And i don't wanna waste my time installing my game again..

These files are located at your GTA Vice City\TEXT\american.gxt files if u wanna see it.

This file holds all the text in the game.

Now i can't play my VC without it.. Someone just help me out?

Well, you have no choice but to install the game again; it won't ruin your saved games - just back up any of your custom skins first and do a clean re-install from the original installer...

and hey, which file controls the car's speed in the game?

That would be the handling.cfg which is in vice city/data/handling.cfg

It has seperate values for accleration, top speed, weight etc

to open it, just right click on the file and open-with notepad

make sure you BACK IT UP (ie make a copy) before you go editing anything just in case you mess anything up

There are instructions in the config file that tell the user about a particular setting, such as the collision multiplier, which tells you how many bumps a vehicle can take before exploding...
