FORD 429 (7 liter) FTW!!!

They run 11/1 compression on 89 octane pumpgas. The last one I had made close to 400 HP, had it in a '70 Galaxie. I miss
that car, it was stolen & scrapped by retards.

Wow, sort of relavent, but a guy at the ImportNC forums has a Civic running on 93 octane with a 13.1:1 compression ratio. I'll check the power right now, I don't remember it.


edit: Ran 11.83 @ 116... dunno power numbers, but that's good for a car that's still streetable / a DD.

Around here (midwest US) 89 octane is midgrade, the cheaper gas.

I've seen under the hood of a couple Windstars, Looks like a Taurus drive train. Get one w/ a 3.8 & you could probably use
a supercharger kit from a 'Stang.

Windstar is kinda based off of the Taurus. So yes, same engine and transaxles. The only thing is the Split Port Induction intake manifold won't fit under the hood of a 96-07 Taurus

Unless you want to chop up your hood.

If you're talking 3.8, the intake off a '00 Mustang should work nicely. Saw one recently w/ the top half of the manifold
off, looked like one of the wild set-ups from the '50s or early '60s for 6 2-bbl carbs.

For myself, I prefer the 3.0 in a Taurus. Surprisingly powerful & a LOT more room to work on them on the few occasions
they need it. This is from putting a transaxle in a 3.8 Taurus.

It's still fun to change the spark plugs on the 3.0. You have to position yourself so you are above the engine.

After I changed the plugs the car wouldn't run for some reason. Apparently I forgot that I unhooked the IAC and TPS.

Try a V-6 Chevy Lumina. You need an engine hoist to get the rear plugs.

Yep. That was back in July. But it gave us quite a scare at the time.

Would it be the 3.1 lumina? I love the sound the 3.1 makes.

The car is ugly too, and probably not as comfortable as the Veyron cause they want to save wait and stuff.

Pull that Chevy 350 & put a Pontiac 400 (which is what SHOULD be in a Firebird) in it.

By 3rd generation, I presume you mean '82 & up?

'82 - 92, yep. Rather the later years. And are you encouraging me to kill myself or something? Mild rebuild, headers / exhaust and some decent cams.. I think it'll be plenty quick for me.
